Finding the Strain Gage You Need

To view the many gage patterns available, click the Strain Gage Series List box in the Strain Gages section to the left. Our most widely used general purpose gages will be found in the "F" and "UF" series. The "P" and "PF" series are longer gage lengths frequently used for surface mounting on concrete. The remaining series in the list cover a variety of special use conditions including low and high temperature, high elongation, concrete embedment and weldables.

Strain Gage Lead Wire Options

Unless noted otherwise, all gages are fabricated with 25mm long "whisker" lead wires as seen above. Connection terminals ("solder tabs") are required to join these tiny whisker leads to a suitable insulated lead wire that connects to your data acquisition system. Click on the Connection Terminals box in the Strain Gages section to the left for solder tab selection. We offer a popular alternative to whisker leads that eliminates the connection terminal and associated soldering with a factory installed, larger gage, insulated wire whose ends can be inserted directly into the terminals of most data acquisition systems. Click on the Integral Lead Wire box in the Strain Gages section to learn how to specify this option on your gages.
