Instrumentation Arresters

Designed to protect the instruments and transducers from lightning strikes. The data logger and other connected transducers may be damaged by instantaneous high voltages in cables caused by lightning conduction even if lightning strikes near rather than directly on power or instrument cables laid outdoors. TML arrester system attaches a special transducer cable arrester (NZ-6A) as well as an arrester unit (NZR-7A/NZ-7B) to the switching box and data logger cable to ground lightning strikes in order to minimize damage.
NZR-7A Connected between an instrument and switching box to prevent inductive current by isolating individual devices
NZ-7B Connected between an instrument and switching box to dissipate inductive current.
NZ-6A Connected between a transducer and switching box to dissipate inductive current.

Spot Welder W-50R

This unit is used to mount weldable strain gages to structures and to secure leadwires in place. The output can be set to two ranges: 1 to 10 or 5 to 50 watt sec. Because of the short output pulse with of approximately 5ms, the unit causes minimal thermal damage to materials being welded. The stabilizing circuit prevents output energy from being affected by power supply voltage fluctuations. The cable can be stored in the main unit for easy portability and handling.

Junction Box JB-2/JB-4

The unit averages outputs from two or four units of strain gage based transducers and transfers the mean value to an digital transducer indicator.
